The Clio Draft Template Builder add-in for Microsoft Word is an integration that makes it easy to create, save, and edit templates directly in Microsoft Word. You can set up these templates with placeholder text for specific data and conditional logic that adds or remove clauses thereby automating much of the drafting process by using relevant Clio information to draft legal documents applicable to specific matters and/or contacts.
Install the add-in
You can download the Template Builder Add-in from the Microsoft add-ins store directly within your Microsoft Word desktop application.
- Open a blank Microsoft Word document.
- In the Home ribbon, click Add-ins.
- Use the search bar to search for Clio Draft.
- Click Add for the Clio Draft Template Builder add-in.
- Follow the prompts to install the add-in.
Log in to the add-in
Once installed, you must log in to connect the add-in to your Clio Draft account.
- In the Home ribbon, click Clio Draft Template Builder to open the add-in panel.
- Sign in to the add-in using your Clio Draft login credentials.
Uninstall the add-in
- Open a blank Microsoft Word document.
- In the Home ribbon, click Add-ins, and then click More Add-ins.
- At the top, click My Add-ins.
- Find the Clio Draft Template Builder add-in.
- Click the three dots and then select Remove.
