In Clio Manage, custom roles give you precise control over user access to firm and client information. When you create a custom role, you can start from scratch and set each permission category, or start from an existing role and adjust its permissions as responsibilities change. Role templates include both built-in and custom roles, and built-in role templates carry their non-configurable permissions into the new role.
Note: The Admin Console steps apply to administrators and to users who can manage users or roles, at firms with Admin Console enabled. If your firm has no access to Admin Console, use the Roles and Permissions steps. In the old experience, Settings is in the left navigation instead of the user menu.
