Payment notifications keep the right people at your firm informed the moment a client bill payment arrives. From online payments settings, you choose whether no one, a permission level, or a user group receives payment notification emails. Routing notifications to the correct recipients supports timely reconciliation and keeps billing staff aware of incoming funds.
Important: You can share payment notifications with a single recipient type: one permission level or one user group.
Set up payment notification emails
Payment notification emails go to firm users when client bill payments are received. Administrators choose the recipients.
Tip: When you create a user group for this purpose, name it Payment notifications for easy recognition.
- In Clio Manage, click Settings > Online payments
- In the Payments notification card, under Permission levels or user groups, select one of the following:
- No one: No firm user receives payment notification emails.
- Permission level: Select Administrator, Billing, or Accounts. All users with that permission level receive payment notification emails.
- User group: Select an existing user group, or click New user group to create one. All users in the group receive payment notification emails.
- Click Save.
