In Clio Grow, the Settings menu holds your personal preferences and the firm-wide configuration for intake, communications, marketing, and data. Configuring these sections before your firm takes on new leads gives every prospective client the same consistent intake experience. Use this article as a map to each section and the article that covers it in detail.
Manage personal and account settings
These sections control your own profile and the firm's Clio Grow account. Account administrators have access to every section in the Settings menu. Other users have access to a limited set of sections. To open the menu, click Settings in the left navigation menu.
- Personal
Update your personal information, password, and notification preferences. Choose light mode, dark mode, or your operating system setting for the Clio Grow appearance. You can also Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication to strengthen account security.
- Account
Manage account licences, invite and deactivate users, and set user permissions. Change account defaults such as currency, number format, and date format. Learn more in Account Management in Clio Grow.
- Subscription
Manage the subscription and payment information for your Clio Grow account.
Set up client communications and branding
These sections control how your firm schedules prospective clients and what they receive from you. Configure them before you send your first intake form, so every message carries your firm's details.
- Calendar & appointments
Create appointment types and default automated reminders for client appointments. Connect Clio Grow appointments and tasks to your Clio Manage calendars. Set up Clio Scheduler, an online booking tool for prospective clients.
- Communications
Connect your personal email address to send emails, documents, and intake forms from that address. Add a personal email signature to emails sent from Clio Grow. Turn on Text Message Notifications and Reminders in Clio Grow for your appointments.
- Communication templates
Create and manage email templates for intake forms, documents, appointments, and intake process items sent from a matter's intake process page. Learn more in Clio Grow Emails, Communication Templates, and Sequences.
- Logo & letterhead
Edit the law firm information printed on intake forms and documents, and add or remove your firm's logo. Learn more in Clio Grow Logo and Website.
Build web presence and intake processes
These sections shape how prospective clients find your firm and how each lead moves from first contact to a new matter. Grow AI is a separate subscription, so its section applies only to firms with Grow AI.
- Website builder
Create a professional firm website without design or coding experience. A published website helps clients find your services, book and pay for consultations online, and submit their information.
- Grow AI
Customise how Grow AI responds to leads, including the practice areas it handles. Learn more in Customise Grow AI.
- Contacts
Set up contact types to categorise contacts by status, and tags to group prospective clients by any extra detail your firm tracks.
- Matters
Set up matter types to organise matters by area of law, similar to Clio Manage practice areas. Set up matter statuses to track each matter from start to finish and sort your Pipeline. Add locations to record where the events of a matter took place.
- Classic workflows
Build automated workflows from pre-built templates to create a consistent intake process. Choose when emails, intake forms, and appointments go out, and when matter statuses change. Learn more in Clio Grow Automated Workflows.
- Checklists and sequences
Create checklist templates that add groups of appointments, tasks, forms, documents, and emails to a matter. Create email sequences that send to clients on a schedule from a matter's intake process. Learn more in Clio Grow Tasks and Checklists.
Tip: A prospective client relationship can create confidentiality obligations even when the person never retains your firm. Consistent contact types and matter statuses make it easier to locate every prospective client your firm has spoken with when you run a conflict check.
Track marketing and reputation
These sections connect your marketing activity to the leads it produces, so your firm can measure which efforts bring in new clients.
- Marketing channels
Set up Google's Local Services Ads to advertise your firm at the top of Google search results and receive leads directly in Clio Grow. Learn more in Google's Local Services Ads for Clio.
- Sources & campaigns
Add, rename, and delete the marketing sources and campaigns that record how prospective clients find your firm. Learn more in Clio Grow Marketing Sources.
- Reputation
Configure client review requests for your firm. Learn more in Request Client Reviews.
Manage data and integrations
These sections control how Clio Grow data moves between your other tools and how your Pipeline organises it. The applications available in the app directory vary by region.
- Custom fields
Create contact and matter custom fields in Clio Grow. Sync Clio Manage custom fields to Clio Grow, or overwrite Clio Manage custom fields with Clio Grow custom fields. Learn more in Clio Grow Custom Fields.
- Integrations

- Import data

- Licence attribution
Review the open-source software licences for the third-party components used in Clio Grow.
