Filter Documents and Save Views

Filters narrow the documents on screen to only those you want to see. When you have a set of filters you expect to use again, you can save it as a view and return to it at any time instead of setting the filters up each time.

Filter documents

  1. Go to Documents and open the location you want to filter.
  2. Select any of the following filters and choose the values you want:
    • Name: Documents whose file name matches the text you enter.
    • Type: The file format, such as PDF or Word.
    • Status: The status set on the document, such as Draft.
    • Classification: The type of legal document, such as Affidavit or Complaint.
    • Uploader: The user who added the document.
    • Tags: Tags applied to the document.
    • Category: The document category set by your firm.

Applied filters show the value you selected, for example Status: Draft.

To remove a single filter, click the X on that filter. To remove all of them at once, click Clear all.

Tip: The different filters work together to continue narrowing your results, but selecting multiple values within a filter broadens your search. For example, if you select Type > Text Document and Uploader > User 1, User 2, you will see all text documents that User 1 uploaded or User 2 uploaded.
