Mobile App: Opportunities

In Clio's mobile app, you can track prospective clients from the Opportunities tab. Checking a pipeline position between meetings keeps intake moving without a trip back to a desk. Each prospective client stays separate from your active client matters, so the intake pipeline reads clearly.

Note: An opportunity in the mobile app is the same record as a matter in Clio Grow on web, where it sits in Pipeline. Refer to Clio Grow Pipeline.

Navigate opportunities list

The opportunities list groups the records you worked on most recently, so that returning to one takes a single selection. Each entry carries the opportunity name, a short description, and a status.

Note: Clio Grow features in the mobile app require a Clio Manage account with Clio Grow connected, and a Clio Grow licence on your user account. Refer to Mobile App: Leads.

  1. Go to Home > Opportunities.
  2. Scroll to view all opportunities.
  3. Optional: Enter a name in the search field.
  4. Select an opportunity to open its details.

Filter and sort opportunities

Filters narrow the list to one part of the pipeline, which helps when you track a single practice area or a single colleague's intake. Filters apply to the groups below the search field and leave Recently viewed intact.

Tip: Sorting by date added or estimated value, and filtering by marketing source or automated workflow, stay in Clio Grow on web.

  1. Go to Home > Opportunities.
  2. Select the filter icon.
  3. Set any of the following:
    • Sort by: Order the list by the date of the most recent change, or alphabetically by opportunity name.
    • Status: Limit the list to one or more pipeline statuses, grouped by the stages your firm defined. Select Done to confirm. The default covers every status.
    • Client: Limit the list to one client.
    • Type: Limit the list to one opportunity type.
    • Location: Limit the list to one firm location.
  4. Select Save.

Review opportunity details

Opportunity details cover the pipeline position, the people attached to the record, and the notes and messages exchanged so far. Notes and messages are shared with Clio Manage, so the same history reads the same way on both products.

  1. Go to Home > Opportunities.
  2. Select an opportunity.
  3. Review any of the following sections:
    • Contents: Select Notes to read the notes on the record, or touch the add icon to write one. While a matter is exporting to Clio Manage, adding notes is unavailable until the export finishes.
    • Contacts: Select a contact name to open the contact details, or use the call, message, and email icons to reach the contact directly.
    • Details: The assigned user, the firm location, the estimated value, and who created the record and when.
    • Custom fields: The fields your firm defined.
  4. Optional: To open the rest of a longer section, select View more.

Manage opportunities

Editing from the mobile app covers the fields that move an opportunity through the pipeline, and the contacts attached to it. A smaller set of actions stays in Clio Grow on web.

Important: Converting an opportunity to a matter in Clio Manage stays in Clio Grow on web, together with files, intake process steps, conflict checks, marketing sources, tags, and custom fields beyond the default and required set. You can complete those steps in Clio Grow on web.

Edit an opportunity

  1. Open an opportunity from Home > Opportunities.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Set the opportunity type, status, assigned user, and description (max 255 characters).
  4. Add or update the estimated value and the firm location.
  5. Select Save.

Edit a contact

An opportunity has one default contact at a time, so setting a new default replaces the previous one.

  1. Open an opportunity from Home > Opportunities.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. In the edit form, select Edit beside a contact.
  4. Optional: Select Add a contact to attach another contact. An opportunity holds up to 10 additional contacts.
  5. Select any of the following:
    • Edit contact: Change the contact information.
    • Mark as client: Record the contact as the client on the opportunity.
    • Set as default: Make the contact the primary one on the record.
  6. Optional: Select Add a contact to attach another contact.
  7. Select Save.
