In Clio Manage, you can configure firm-wide and personal settings from Manage settings. Firm-wide settings control your account, users, security, billing, and client-facing tools, while personal settings control your own profile and notifications. A complete setup gives everyone at your firm a consistent and secure workspace.
Open Manage settings
Account administrators have full access to Manage settings. Other users have access to a limited set of settings. Settings sit in three areas: System, Personal, and Clio Settings.
- Go to the user menu (your avatar, top right) > Manage settings.
Note: If your account uses the old Clio experience, click Settings in the left navigation instead.
System settings
System settings control your account and subscription, users, groups, roles, custom fields, deleted items, security, document integrations, and accounting integrations. Each link requires a specific permission, so the links available to you depend on your role.
- Account and Payment Info
-
Manage your firm details, subscription payment, and account ownership.
- Account Info: Add your firm logo, firm name, mailing address, and contact information. Set the date, time, and number formats and the locale for your account. Enter the LEDES Law Firm ID, Tax ID or GST Number to include on LEDES invoice exports. Client invoices and the Clio for Clients app use this information. Only account administrators can change account information.
- Payment Info: Enter the credit card your firm uses to pay for its Clio subscription.
- Account Administration: Review the primary subscriber and transfer account ownership. Click Review all account roles to review the roles on your account. To change the primary subscriber, confirm your identity first.
- Manage Users
Review, add, and edit permissions for account users. Administrators also require users to change their passwords from here.
- Groups and Job Titles
- Groups: When you create a matter, you can limit access to members of a specific group. Only administrators set up groups.
- Job Titles: Review the list of job titles added to your account.
- Roles and Permissions
Review and edit the roles and permissions that control what each user can access. This page opens in a new tab. Learn more in Roles and Permissions in Clio Manage.

- Security & Compliance
-
Manage password rules, firm security, and compliance settings, and review sign-in activity. For some users, this link is labelled Security. The page also includes the Password Security and Compliance tabs.

- Accounting Integrations
Set up the Xero and QuickBooks Online accounting integrations. In the old Clio experience, this link is labelled Bill Syncing.
- Aggregate Reporting Participation
-
Choose whether your firm participates in aggregate reporting. Participation shares anonymised, aggregated reports on system usage and trends. The reports help improve Clio's services and inform educational content for the legal profession. Your app data stays confidential and private, and client information stays confidential and unidentifiable. For questions, email legal@clio.com.
- Select or clear the Participate in aggregate reporting checkbox.
- Click Save Settings.
- Admin Console
Administer users, licences, and roles for your firm in one place. Admin Console opens in a new tab. It is available to users who can manage users or roles, on accounts where Admin Console is turned on. Licence purchases and subscription changes stay in Manage settings.
Personal settings
Personal settings control your profile, mobile app access, contact and calendar sync, connected apps, text snippets, notifications, Court Rules, and email signature.
- Profile
- Your Information: Update your email, name, address, phone number, job title, billing rate, time zone, and other personal details. If your firm uses multiple currencies, set a billing rate for each currency. - Change Login Email: Change the email address you use to sign in to Clio.
- Personal Performance: Set personal performance metrics to track and graph your performance. Learn more in Clio Manage Detailed Annual Report.
