Mobile App: User Security

You can utilise the Clio mobile app's security features to protect your firm and client data by automatically locking the screen after a period of inactivity. You can set up a secure PIN or use your device's biometric security (i.e., Face ID or Touch ID) to unlock the app and safely resume your work.

Manage PIN unlock

In Clio's mobile app, you can set a four-digit PIN to unlock the app when it locks after three minutes of inactivity. 

Important: You can only modify or remove the PIN from the app if you know your existing PIN. If you forget your PIN or lose your device, you can deauthorise the app in your Clio Manage desktop settings. Once deauthorised, the PIN will be removed, and you will be logged out of the Clio mobile app and prompted to log back in.

  1. Open the app and select Home from the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Click the gear icon for settings.
  3. Click Security and select PIN.
  4. Enter a four-digit PIN.
  5. Re-enter the PIN.

 

Manage fingerprint/face unlock

In Clio's mobile app, if your mobile device supports Face ID or Touch ID, you can set the app to require fingerprint/face unlock after three minutes of inactivity. This ensures that your Clio data remains secure, even if your device remains unlocked. You must also create a backup PIN when setting up this feature in case biometric unlock is unavailable.

  1. Open the app and select Home from the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Click the gear icon for settings.
  3. Click Security and select Set up your PIN or Face ID.
  4. Enter a backup PIN in case Face ID or Touch ID does not work.
  5. Re-enter the backup PIN.
