Legal Aid provides assistance to individuals who cannot afford legal representation and access to the court system. In England and Wales, the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) administers Legal Aid for most criminal, civil, and some family law cases.
Working with the LAA is essential for UK firms, as Legal Aid covers legal fees for eligible clients. Approximately 2,100 law firms in the UK are registered Legal Aid practitioners.
