Once a document or folder has been added to Clio Manage, you can edit the file or folder's details, move document files from one folder location to another, replace the current version of a document with a new version, and convert Word documents to PDFs. In Clio Grow, you can edit the due date once a document has been sent for eSignature.

Edit sent document due date in Clio Grow

Once a document has been sent out for eSignatures in Clio Grow, you can still edit the original due date. Follow the steps below to learn how to do this.

  1. Go to the matter in Clio Grow.
  2. Find the document task under the Intake process section.
  3. Click the Options dropdown and select Edit Due Date.
  4. Select a new date and then click Update Due Date.

 

Edit file and folder details in Clio Manage

Note: The edit functionality in these steps is limited to editing file or folder details. If you need to edit the document itself, make your edits on your computer and then add a new version to Clio, or edit the document using Clio Launcher or Clio Drive.

  1. Go to the main Documents tab or the Documents subtab in a contact or matter.
  2. Find the document in the table. You may need to click into folders.
  3. Click Edit next to a folder’s name, or click the down arrow next to View and select Edit details to change file details for a document file.
  4. Make your changes and then click Save.

 

Move documents in Clio Manage

After adding a new document file to Clio Manage, you can move it from its current folder location to a new folder location if necessary. You have the option to move documents individually or in bulk.

  1. Go to the main Documents tab or the Documents subtab in a contact or matter.
  2. Find the document or folder in the table. You may need to click into folders.
  3. Click the down arrow next to View or Edit and select Move.
  4. Select the folder where you want to move the document or folder.
  5. Click Move to this folder.

 

Add new document versions in Clio Manage

  1. Go to the main Documents tab or the Documents subtab in a contact or matter.
  2. Find the document in the table. You may need to click into folders.
  3. Click View next to the document or folder’s name. The document will open in Clio Manage.
  4. Click add new version.
  5. Upload the new file version.

 

Create PDFs from Word documents in Clio Manage

Once you upload a Word document to Clio Manage, you can create a PDF of the document directly in Clio Manage with just a few clicks. This makes it easy to share PDF documents with clients or opposing counsel, and send PDF documents to clients for their electronic signatures, all without having to download the documents, convert them to PDFs, and re-upload them to Clio Manage.

  1. Go to the main Documents tab or the Documents subtab in a contact or matter.
  2. Find the Word document in the table. You may need to click into folders.
  3. Click the down arrow next to View and then select Create PDF.
    • A PDF version will automatically appear above the Word document.
