Clio Draft: Account Settings and User Invitation

Clio Draft users who are administrators can invite new users to join the account, resend or revoke invitations, change user roles, remove users from the account entirely, and change the organisation name for your firm’s account. Any user who is a member of multiple accounts can set a default organisation and easily switch between accounts.

Note: Clio Draft is being gradually released to your region over the coming weeks. If you do not see it in your account yet, it will become available to you soon.

Invite user teammates and manage invitations

Administrators can invite new teammates to the organisation account, resend invitations to remind users to join, and revoke any sent invitations. Once invited, users will receive an email invitation to create a new account associated with your firm’s account.

Invite Resend invitation Revoke invitation
  1. Go to Settings and click Team.
  2. Click Invite teammates.
  3. Enter the user’s email address. Depending on the number of available seats, you can click Add Email to add additional users to invite multiple users in bulk.
  4. Select whether the user(s) should be a Member or Admin.
    • If you added multiple user emails, all of those users will have the same role. You can always change user roles once users are added to the account.
  5. Click Send Invites.

Understand and change user roles

In Clio Draft, there are two roles types: Member and Admin. Both types of roles have access to normal actions in Clio Draft, such as document automation. Administrators can also make account changes such as inviting and removing users, viewing and managing the subscription, and more. Administrators can set users as normal members or administrators when sending user invitations and at any time after a user has joined the account.

  1. Go to Settings and click Team.
  2. Find the user. You can use the search bar to search for their name or email address.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown and then select Change Role.
  4. Select the new role and then click Save.

Remove users from the account

If you are an administrator and you no longer want a user to have a licence to your firm account, you can remove the user from the account.

  1. Go to Settings and click Team.
  2. Find the user. You can use the search bar to search for their name or email address.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown and then select Remove User.

Change organisation name

Only administrators can change your organisation’s name. Changing your organisation’s name will not change the information for your individual profile.

  1. Go to Settings and click Organisation.
  2. Enter a new name for your firm.
  3. Click Save changes.

Set default organisation

If you are a member of more than one Clio Draft organisation and use the same email address for the organisations, you can set a default organisation for login purposes.

  1. Go to Settings and click Organisation.
  2. Click Set as default next to an organisation’s name.
  3. Click Set default to confirm.

Switch between accounts

If you are a member of more than one Clio Draft organisation, you can easily switch between organisations.

  1. In Clio Draft, click your user icon or profile picture at the top right.
  2. Click Switch Organisations.
  3. Select the organisation you want to switch to, and then click Switch.
