Clio Library gives your firm access to over one billion primary law sources, dockets, and secondary materials from more than 100 countries. You can use it to find specific legal authorities, review source documents, and manage research without leaving your practice management workflow.
Access Clio Library
- In Clio Manage, select Clio Work from the product switcher in the top left.
- Click Library in the left navigation panel.
Search the library
Clio Library offers three ways to find information depending on your research goals.
Simple search
- In the search bar, enter a keyword, title, or citation.
- Use the jurisdiction selector to the right of the search bar to narrow results by region.
- Click the search icon to run the search.
Browse by content type
- Click Browse in the left navigation panel.
- Select a jurisdiction, content type, court, or category of law to explore an area without a specific keyword.
Advanced search
- Click Advanced Search in the left navigation panel.
- Use specific fields and parameters to run focused, complex searches.
Use Boolean operators and search syntax
Refine your searches using the following operators.

Sync your own documents
Connect a cloud storage service to search your firm's own files alongside library content. Once synced, your documents appear as a content type in the search filter panel.
- In the top-right corner of Clio Library, click the person icon.
- Select vLex Cloud Settings.
- Toggle the switch for your preferred cloud storage service.
- Follow the prompts to authorise the connection.
