Perform Redline Analyses in Clio Work

The Redline Analysis workflow compares versions of documents and generates a summary of the differences between them. You can use it when you are reviewing a counterparty's redlines or tracking revisions across multiple drafts of the same documents. The results give you a starting point for assessing how the changes affect your client's position, before you begin your own clause-by-clause review. This article covers how to upload contract versions and start an analysis.

Important: All Vincent AI output requires final review and due diligence by a qualified legal professional before use in negotiation, client advice, or filing.

Upload documents and start the analysis

  1. In Clio Work, click Vincent in the left navigation.
  2. Select Analyse, then Redline Analysis.
  3. Upload one or more versions of the contract you want to compare. Redline Analysis accepts Word (.doc, .docx) and PDF files.
  4. Review the summary of changes Vincent generates.

Understand the analysis output

When you upload document versions, Vincent generates a general summary of the documents as well as a Table of Changes and a written summary of the changes between versions. You can click the expand icon to view the table in full screen, or select the download icon to export it as an Excel or CSV file.

Vincent may also suggest additional analyses, that you can select from depending on the content of your documents. Alternatively, you can type your own question to continue the conversation with Vincent.
