Draft Documents from Forms and Templates

You can generate documents from Clio's existing court forms library or templates you created, pre-populated with case facts from your matter, without leaving Clio Work.

Generate a document

Generating a document from forms available in Clio or template involves selecting the relevant document(s), resolving any case facts to ensure Clio has the information it needs to populate the document with the right information relevant to the matter and/or contact, and then creating, reviewing, and saving or sharing the final document(s).

Select your forms or templates

1. Navigate to the Vincent home page.
2. Below the prompt text box, select Draft > Draft documents from forms and templates.
3. Select the Matter the documents pertain to.

4. Choose your template(s) and/or form(s).

   • Custom templates: Choose from templates your firm previously created.
   • Clio Content: Select the relevant form from Clio's library of court forms and templates.

   Tip: The relevant forms will show first based on the jurisdiction selected as part of the conversation you started from. To find a different form, click All forms, then search for or navigate to a form.

5. Select the checkbox next to each form or template you want to generate. You can select multiple forms.
6. Click Generate documents.

Resolve case facts

Vincent gathers case facts from the matter and maps them to your selected forms or templates. If a fact is missing or conflicts across sources, Vincent will prompt you to resolve the issue. You can click Case facts to review the items Vincent marked as needing attention. These may include:

• resolving conflicts,
• assigning roles (contacts) to certain fields,
• reviewing and filling in case facts, and/or
• providing missing information.

At any time you can click Update to allow your changes to take effect.

Continue the conversation with Vincent until you are satisfied that all the information is available and accurate before continuing to the next step.

Create documents

Once case facts are resolved, select the relevant prompt to allow Vincent to create the document(s) (e.g., click Proceed to form filling). Vincent will return each of your filled forms. Click the form's tile to view it in a new tab where you can review the form and make any necessary final adjustments.
