You can help protect your firm data and account security by ensuring your Clio user account has a strong password. Your password should not contain any personal information that can be tied to the user, and it should be long enough that it cannot easily be uncovered by password cracking software. Learn more about tips for strong passwords here.

Tip: Enable two-step verification on your account to strengthen account security. With two-step verification, you can protect your account in the event that your password is compromised. Learn more below.

  1. Go to Settings and click Security.
  2. Under Security, click Change password.
  3. Enter your current password and then enter your new password.
  4. Click Update password to finish.

Enable two-step verification

Two-step verification (2SF) strengthens account security by requiring two methods to verify your identity. For your Clio Draft account, this means logging in with your username and password, followed by a time-sensitive code that is either sent to your email address or your mobile device via text message (SMS).

By enabling 2SF, you are adding an extra layer of security in case your password is compromised. If someone tries logging in with your username and password, you have peace of mind knowing they cannot access your account without a time-sensitive code. Adopting 2SF ultimately improves your data security and can prevent account takeovers.

Set up 2SF via email Set up 2SF via text message
  1. Go to Settings and click Security.
  2. Under Two-step verification, click Enable.
  3. Select Email and then click Confirm. Clio Draft will use the email associated with your Clio Draft account.

Disable two-step verification

  1. Go to Settings and click Security.
  2. Under Two-step verification, click Disable.
