Clio Duo's Document Analyzer in Clio Manage helps you quickly and efficiently gather key insights from your documents, such as summaries, lists, or specific details. You can access the analyzer from the Clio Duo chat panel, the Documents tab, or by selecting a matter before choosing documents. You can also access the analyzer from the Documents subtab within a matter.
The analyzer streamlines collaboration and knowledge sharing by allowing you to save or share extracted information with other firm users easily. You can save the extracted information as a new note or document within a matter, ensuring that all essential details are readily accessible for future reference and collaboration.
Analyze documents
Ask Clio Duo to summarize documents, extract key details, or generate lists based on your requests.
- Go to the main Documents or the Documents subtab of contact or matter and click Analyze.
- Select an open matter from the dropdown or type in the matter name.
- Select one of the following options:
- Select documents in a matter: Pick your file(s) from the matter to analyze.
- Upload new documents: Click Choose Files or drag and drop your file(s) into the upload area.
- Click Next: Ask your question, then wait for the initial analysis to complete.
- Optional: Click Configure to change the initial analysis to provide a per-document summary or a summary that combines information from all the selected/uploaded documents.
- Optional: Click Share, then Copy to copy the text of the analysis to share, or click Share, then Save to save the analysis as a New note or New document (.docx).
- Optional: Click Feedback to help Clio improve Duo's analysis capabilities.
- Enter a question or request to extract key details. Some examples include.
- Who are the parties involved?
- Create a time of events from these documents.
- Provide a breakdown of who gets what assets.
- Itemize the dollar amounts from these documents.
- Summarize these documents.
- Optional: Review citations in the results.
File types and size limits
You can analyze up to five documents at a time. If needed, refine your results by adjusting your wording and questions. The analyzer supports DOCX, TXT, and PDF files with the following size limits:
- DOCX and TXT: Up to 1MB per file, with a 5MB total limit per analysis.
- PDF: Up to 5MB per file, with a 25MB total limit per analysis.
Review citations
In-text citations appear in analyses and link directly to the original text in your documents. You can use citations to verify sources and ensure accuracy before using extracted details.
- Click the citation to preview the referenced section.
- Click the hyperlink icon in the citation to open the document in your matter.
Share and save analysis
With Clio Duo Document Analyzer, you can share analysis results with firm users or save them for later reference.
- Complete the steps in the Analyze documents or view the analysis from Recent analyses on the left-side panel.
- In the top right, click Copy link to analysis for a direct link.
- Under the analysis, click Copy to share the text, or click the Save dropdown and select New note or New document (.docx).
- You can view the new note or document back in the matter.
