This article guides you through inviting new users and managing their permissions, login information, and access within your Clio Grow account.
Invite a new user
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, click Invite user.
- The new modal will show how many licenses you have remaining on the account.
- Complete the user invitation details and click Confirm and send invites.
- The user will receive an email to finish setting up their account.
Resend or revoke user invitations
You can resend a user invitation if the original email was missed or cancel an invitation if it's no longer needed.
Resend an invitation
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, click Resend invite next to the user's name. Confirm by clicking Resend invite.
Revoke an invitation
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, click Revoke Invite next to the user's name.
- Confirm by clicking Revoke invite.
Change login email
In Clio Grow, administrators cannot change the login information for other firm users. However, they can deactivate a user and add a new one if necessary. You can change your own login email by following the steps below.
- Go to Settings > Personal.
- In the Security section, click Manage my security.
- Click Edit next to Email address.
- Enter your new email and your password.
- Click Save.
Understand user permission types
In Clio Grow, there are two permission types: Normal and Admin.
- Normal: This permission provides users with access to all areas of Clio Grow other than those limited to administrators.
- Admin: This permission is limited to administrators. Administrators can change user permissions for all other administrators and all normal users. Administrators can do the following:
- View reports
- Export contacts and matters
- Invite and deactivate users
- Add or remove licenses
- Update billing information
- Build, edit, cancel, and archive automated workflows
Change user permissions
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, click the blue Admin or Normal link under the Permission column.
- Select the appropriate permission.
- Click Assign permission.
Deactivate or reactivate users
You can deactivate firm users who no longer need access to Clio Grow. You can also reactivate users if they rejoin the firm.
Deactivate users
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, find the user and click Deactivate.
- When the warning prompt appears, select Deactivate user.
Reactivate users
- Go to Settings > Account.
- In the User settings section, find the user and click Reactivate.
- The new modal will show the remaining licenses on the account.
- Select Reactivate user.
