In Clio Grow, you can add an email signature and send intake emails from your own email address. Clients receive forms, documents, and appointment invitations from an address they recognize, signed the way your firm signs its correspondence. Client replies arrive in your own inbox, so intake correspondence stays with the rest of your client communication.
Understand how Clio Grow emails are sent
Every email from Clio Grow goes out from either the default sender address or your connected email account. Your connection sets the sender address and the size limit for each email.
- Default sender
Emails go out from notifications@grow.clio.com under the name Clio Grow. Your own email address is the reply-to address, so client replies arrive in your inbox. Each email, including attachments, has a size limit of 7 megabytes (MB).
- Connected email account
Emails go out from your own email address. Copies of sent emails save to the Sent folder of your email account. Each email, including attachments, has a size limit of 18 MB.
If an email from your connected account fails to send, you receive an email notice about the failed send.
Connect an email account
Connecting an email account sets your own address as the sender for Clio Grow emails. Each firm user connects their own account. One connection covers Clio Grow and Clio Manage, and it also turns on automated email filing for that inbox.
To connect or disconnect Gmail, Outlook, or Microsoft Exchange, follow the steps in Automated Email Filing. After you connect, you can edit the Sender name on emails from your account.
Tip: If your firm uses Grow AI, the email agent monitors a connected inbox for lead inquiries. Grow AI screens each lead for fit and books a consultation when the lead qualifies. Learn more in Grow AI's Email Agent.
Connect from the Email integration section
Some accounts connect email from the Email integration section of the Communications settings. This section also supports providers such as GoDaddy, Yahoo, iCloud, and AOL through Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) settings.
Note: Clio Grow and Clio Manage have separate settings. To open Clio Grow settings, click your initials in the top navigation bar, then click Grow settings.
- Go to Grow settings > Communications.
- In the Email integration section, click Connect email.
- Select your email provider.
- Gmail, Outlook, or Exchange: Click Connect email. Follow the prompts to sign in and authorize the connection.
- I use a different email provider: Enter the SMTP server, port number, and connection security from your email provider. Click Connect email.
- Optional: To file emails and attachments from your inbox to Clio, select the Automatically file your emails and attachments checkbox.
The help center for each provider lists its SMTP settings: GoDaddy, Yahoo, iCloud, and AOL.
To disconnect from this section, click Disconnect email, then click Disconnect email again to confirm.
