Navigate Vincent in Clio Work

Understanding Vincent's workspace layout before your first conversation ensures you can locate workflows, access previous sessions, and connect your research to the correct matter. This guide covers the core navigation elements of the Vincent interface in Clio Work.

Access the Vincent workspace

Vincent's home page is your starting point for all conversations and workflows in Clio Work. To access Vincent's workspace, click Vincent in the left navigation panel.

Understand the home page layout

In Clio Work, Vincent's home page offers three areas to start or continue your work.

  • Text box: Use voice input or type a question or instruction directly to Vincent. The text box includes the jurisdiction selector, the + icon for adding folders and documents, and a toggle for Vincent's Agentic Mode.
  • Workflows: Below the text box, use the Research, Analyze, and More Workflows options to browse and select workflows dedicated to specific scenarios.
  • Recent conversations: Below the workflow options, view and reopen previous conversations with Vincent.

Find and select workflows

Vincent organizes workflows into three access points from the home page:

Research

Select the Research dropdown to access research and strategy workflows, including Ask a Research Question, Build an Argument, and Compare Jurisdictions.

Analyze

Select the Analyze dropdown to access document analysis workflows, including Analyze a Complaint, Analyze a Contract, Create a Timeline, Tabular Document Review, Summarize Documents, and Redline Analysis.

More Workflows

Select More Workflows to open the full workflow panel. Use the filter tabs (All, Featured, Research, Litigation, Transactional, Document Analysis, International, Video Analysis) to narrow the list. Each workflow card includes a description of its functionality.

Add documents to a conversation

You can attach documents to any conversation from the text box before or during your session.

  1. From the Vincent home page or an active conversation, select the + icon in the text box.
  2. Select a document source:
    • Add from Manage: Select files previously uploaded to Clio Manage.
    • File Upload: Browse and select files from your computer.
    • Folder Upload: Upload an entire folder from your computer.
    • Upload from Google Drive: Select files from a connected Google Drive account.
    • Upload from NetDocuments: Select files from a connected NetDocuments account.
    • Upload from SharePoint: Select files from a connected SharePoint account.

Manage conversation history

The Recent conversations section on the Vincent home page lists your previous sessions. You can click an item in the list to continue your conversation with Vincent, assign it to a matter, rename it, or delete the conversation.

View Rename Delete
  1. In Clio Work, click Vincent.
  2. Click a list item in Recent conversations to open it and view or continue the conversation.

Connect conversations to matters

You can associate a Clio Work conversation with a matter to allow Vincent access to your case documents and metadata in Clio Manage. This ensures research is automatically logged to the correct client file.

Tip: Selecting a matter is optional but recommended. Without a matter association, Vincent cannot access your case-specific documents or log the conversation to a client file.

Before starting a conversation

  1. From the Vincent home page, select the Select Matter dropdown above the main text box.
  2. Search for and select the relevant matter.
  3. Start your conversation.

After starting a conversation

  1. In Clio Work, click Vincent.
  2. Click the relevant conversation in your Recent conversations list to open it.
  3. At the end of the conversation, click Save to Matter > Select Matter, then choose the matter.

Access Clio Library from the workspace

You can switch between Vincent and the Clio Library at any time without losing your conversation.

  • Click Library from the left navigation panel to search directly for primary and secondary sources.
  • Return to Vincent from the left navigation to continue your conversation.
