You can export your firm's data from Clio Manage for record-keeping or to migrate data to a new Clio Manage account. Exported files are downloaded in CSV format and can be used with Clio's migration templates to import data into another account.
Note: Only users with administrator permissions can export data in bulk.
Export data from Clio Manage
- In Clio Manage, go to the Exports page:
- North America: https://app.clio.com/exports
- Canada: https://ca.app.clio.com/export
- Click Excel ready CSV next to each of the following data types you want to export:
- Calendar entries
- Communications
- Contact notes
- Contact related matters
- Contacts
- Expense entries
- Matter notes
- Matters
- Tasks
- Time entries
- To export outstanding balances, go to Reports, click Reports, then click Accounts receivable. Set the output format to CSV and click Generate Report.
Migrate data to a new Clio Manage account
If you are migrating data from one Clio Manage account to another, use the exported CSV files with Clio's migration templates to import data into the new account.
- Export your data from the original Clio Manage account following the steps above. For trust balances, generate the trust management report before exporting.
- Move the data from the exported CSV files into the appropriate migration templates.
- Import the completed templates into the new Clio Manage account. See Get Started with Migration Templates for import instructions.
