Dropbox is one of the world’s most popular document storage applications. With Dropbox, you can securely upload and share files with clients and co-counsel from anywhere.

Note: Clio does not support integrations with shared drives or business accounts.

Set up Dropbox in Clio

When you set up Clio's integration with Dropbox, Clio will automatically create a folder in the root directory of your Dropbox account that contains subfolders for each of your clients and matters. The root folder cannot be moved or renamed. The initial sync between Clio and Dropbox can take up to 24 hours.

Important: If you rename a contact or matter folder in Dropbox, Clio Manage will assume the folder in Dropbox is missing and recreate the folder and all of its contents.
Note: Your firm can only connect one account, and only administrators can connect and authenticate this account.
  1. Go to Settings > Documents > Document Sources.
  2. Click Configure Dropbox.
  3. Click Link Dropbox Account.
  4. Sign in to Dropbox and authorize the integration if you are prompted.
  5. Choose how you want your client matter folders to be created in Dropbox. You can create folders in Dropbox for your open matters, open and pending matter, or all matters.
  6. Click Save Changes when you are finished.
