In Clio Grow, tags are used to add extra information that you need to categorize, organize, or differentiate or group prospective clients. Once added, tags are easily visible when viewing the Contacts overview page or when you click to view a contact.
Create Tags
Tags can be created in your Clio Grow settings and directly from a single contact’s page.
- Go to Settings > Contacts > Tags.
- Click New Tag.
- Name the tag and click the blue square to change the tag’s color.
- Click Create Tag.
- Go to Contacts and select your contact. You can also use the search bar to find a contact.
- Click Edit Tags.
- Select the color wheel to choose the tag’s color and name the tag.
- Click Add Tag.
- Click Done.

When editing a tag, you can change the tag’s color and the tag’s name. To do this:
- Go to Settings > Contacts > Tags.
- Click Edit.
- Change the color and/or name.
- Click Update Tag.
Delete tags in settings
- Go to Settings > Contacts > Tags.
- Click Delete.
- Select OK.
Apply tags to contact
There is no limit to the number of tags you can add to a contact. To apply tags to a contact:
- Go to Contacts and select your contact. You can also use the search bar to find a contact.
- Click Add Tags.
- Search for the pre-created tags.
- Click Done.
Remove tags from contact
Removing a tag from a contact will not delete the tag. If you want to permanently delete the tag, see the section above: Delete tags in settings. To remove a tag from a contact:
- Go to Contacts and select your contact. You can also use the search bar to find a contact.
- Click Edit Tags.
- Click the X next to the tag’s name.
- Click Done.
