This streamlined workflow ensures document consistency and saves time when generating client-specific documents. In this article, you can access, modify, and successfully use your updated templates.

This article covers the fourth and final step in building Word document templates via the Clio Draft Template Builder. After you created a Word document template or open one for editing, added any needed cards and fields, and added conditional logic, you can save your template so that a drafter can use it to quickly create documentation.

Save the updated template

  1. In the Clio Draft Template Builder panel, click Save template.

The updated version will automatically replace the existing template file in your Clio Draft Library.

Use the updated template

After saving your changes in the add-in, you can immediately use the customized template to generate a document in Clio Draft.

  2. Click Draft from Template.
  3. Select the matter and client for the document.
  4. Select your newly updated template from the list of available templates.
  5. Generate the document and click Draft Document.
