Approving and sending trust requests moves a request through your firm review process and delivers it to the client so they can deposit funds. Approval confirms the request internally, and sending issues it to the client by the method you choose. With a request approved and sent, the client can pay and you can record the deposit.
Approve a trust request
When a trust request is created without skipping the approval process, it appears in the Draft subtab in the main Billing tab. From there, you can submit the request for approval by another firm member, or approve it directly.

- Go to Billing, or the Bills tab in a contact or matter.
- Click the Draft subtab.
- Click the down arrow next to Edit and select Submit for approval.
- Select the firm members who need to approve the trust request.
- Under Notify via, select Email and/or Internal message to notify the firm members.
- Optional: Click Add note to include a note with the approval request.
- Click Submit for approval.
Approve a trust request directly
- Go to Billing, or the Bills tab in a contact or matter.

- Go to Billing, or the Bills tab in a contact or matter.
- Click the Unpaid subtab.
- Click Send.
- Review the recipient email, select the message details such as the trust template, make any changes, and select the send method.
