System requirements
Internet speed
There is no recommended minimum internet speed for accessing Clio Draft; however, speeds below 30 Mbps can result in slower screen loading. Generally, a faster connection is better.
Browsers
Google Chrome is the only browser where you have full functionality and usage of Clio Draft. Mac users can use Safari, but Chrome is recommended. Other browsers, such as Firefox and Internet Explorer/Edge may lose functionality, making it difficult to navigate and use Clio Draft.

Connect Clio Draft and Clio Manage
Connecting your Clio Draft and Clio Manage accounts is an important part of using both products efficiently. Once your accounts are connected, your Clio Manage contacts and matters will sync to Clio Draft, allowing you to easily populate your Clio Draft court forms and Word templates with Clio Manage data. This can reduce the risk of errors and help you save time by eliminating the need to manually enter data.
The sync will include all matter and contact custom fields, along with the following Clio Manage fields:
- Client reference number
- Matter description
- Open date
- Close date
- Practice area
- Full name
- First name
- Middle name
- Last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Street address
- City
- Country
- Zip code
- State
- Prefix
- Job title
- Initials
- Employer
- Website
- Responsible attorney full name, email, and time zone
- Originating attorney full name, email and time zone
Note: The sync is a one-way sync from Clio Manage going into Clio Draft.
Important: The sync will import all of your open matters and contacts from Clio Manage and cannot be undone. If you remove a contact or matter from Clio Manage, it will not be removed from Clio Draft. If you delete a synced matter from Clio Draft, it cannot be resynced.
- In Clio Manage, remove any matters, contacts, and/or custom fields that you do not need.
- Log in to app.lawyaw.com.
- Click Settings and then click Integrations.
- Click Connect to begin the authentication sync.
- Click Import Data to import your Clio Manage contacts and matters.
- The sync will run in the background, and you will receive an email notification when it is finished. You can continue to use other parts of the platform while you wait for the sync to complete.
Resync Clio Draft
Each time you add new information or update existing information in Clio Manage, you need to resync it with Clio Draft to bring that data over. You can either do a full account resync or, if you know you only need to update a few matters, update matters individually (learn more here).
Important: A full resync will bring over all new data from Clio Manage to Clio Draft. This means that all contact and matter data in Clio Draft will be overwritten by data in Clio Manage, regardless of matter permissions in Clio Manage. The update will not overwrite data that has already been used to draft existing documents.
- Go to your Clio Draft account.
- Click Settings and then click Integrations.
- Click Sync.
