Tip: Create a dedicated folder within the matter's Documents tab for research materials. This keeps verified authorities organized and accessible to everyone working on the file.

  1. Open a document in Clio Library.
  2. In the top-right toolbar, click the download icon.
  3. Click to download in PDF or DOCX.
  4. Save the file to your preferred location.

Connect research to a matter in Clio Manage

Downloaded documents can be uploaded directly to a matter record in Clio Manage, keeping your research findings connected to the file.

Note: Attaching verified research directly to the matter record can reduce the risk of using outdated or unverified authority in subsequent work. When multiple attorneys contribute to a matter, a shared document folder ensures everyone cites the same verified sources.

  1. In Clio Manage, open the relevant matter.
  2. Navigate to the Documents tab.
  3. Upload the downloaded file to the matter record.
