Side navigation bar

Use the navigation bar to access case-specific files and resources for your account. When you click each tab, you will see a header with subtabs for navigating actions in the section and a table for navigating and manipulating data. Clio Manage contains the following tabs:

Dashboard

Personal Dashboard: Gives you a snapshot of pertinent information related to your overall personal and specific matters and includes the following:

  • Today's Agenda: This section shows your tasks that you have due today and your calendar events for the day.
  • Hourly Metrics: This section shows your target billable time compared to the actual billable time that you logged. Non-billable time will not appear as part of this metric. You can set your personal performance targets for this metric in your settings. See the "Set up personal performance target" section here to learn more.
  • Billing Metrics for Firm: This section shows the number of bills and value amount totals that you have in each bill state. You can only view this section if you are an administrator or if you have billing and reports permissions, and if your billing rate visibility is not restricted.
  • Financial Metrics: This section shows billed and unbilled time entered in Clio for the fiscal year, plotted relative to the annual performance targets. The calculations in each graph are based on a 260-day year to account for weekends. You can only view this section if you are an administrator or if you have billing and reports permissions, and if your billing rate visibility is not restricted.
  • Detailed Annual Report: This report shows a visual of your personal performance metrics. It displays the target billable time you aimed to reach by the end of the year compared to the actual billable time you logged for the year. You can only view this section if you are an administrator or if you have billing and reports permissions, and if your billing rate visibility is not restricted. Learn more here.

Firm Dashboard: Offers managers, administrators, and users with reporting permissions insights into the utilization, realization, and collection metrics of their firms. It presents data by your desired year and can be adjusted with the date selector at the top of the page. This dashboard calculates all metrics based on the date of an activity, not the date of a payment or bill.

  • Utilization: The utilization rate is a measure of productivity and shows how much of the day is spent doing billable work in comparison to the available hours in a day (Clio uses an eight-hour available work day). It is calculated as the billable hours worked divided by the available working hours (in the number of days in a month). Each user's working days are defined by the values set for their personal performance target.
  • Realization: The realization rate is a measure of value efficiency and shows the amount of billable work recorded that is actually put on a bill, excluding any discounts. It is calculated as the total number of billed hours subtracted by the discounted hours and then divided by the total number of billable hours worked.
  • Collection: The collection rate shows how much of the firm's billed work has been paid for by clients. It is calculated as the total amount of hours collected on divided by the total number of non-discounted hours billed.

Firm Feed: Informs firm members of important account activity and events and can be filtered by user, event or activity type, and whether an event or activity was deleted.
